Thompson composed the work for Gartshore’s father, the late Ed Malone, when he sang at Blessed Sacrament.
“ He sang it many times at mass for weddings and funerals,” said Gartshore in an email to The Sault Star. “It has a beautiful soaring melody with a lovely supporting accompaniment. It has an immediate appeal.”
