STANVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - WYMT confirmed on Wednesday that Mike Howard stepped down as the boys basketball head coach at Betsy Layne.

The Bobcats were 1-3 on the season prior to Howard’s decision to resign.

Howard spent a little more than two seasons with Betsy Layne, going 17-16 in 2023-24.

The Bobcats ended up going 19-10 in Howard’s second season and claimed the 58th district title. In that same year, Howard was named the 15th Region Boys Basketball Coach of the Year by the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches (KABC).
