COLUMBUS, Ohio (WOIO) - The Ohio Senate passed a bill Tuesday that changes what consumers can buy and where they can use marijuana.

The legislation will now head to Gov. Mike DeWine’s desk, and he is expected to sign it.

The bill includes several key changes to Ohio’s marijuana laws.

It lowers THC levels in marijuana products and requires they can only be sold at licensed dispensaries.

The legislation prohibits marijuana use in public spaces and creates new limits on how much people can grow and where they can grow it.

The bill also makes it illegal to buy marijuana in other states, including Michigan and Pennsylvania.

It eliminates some housing and job protections that were previously in place.

Some critics claim the bill undermines what Ohio voters wanted.
