Police in western Pennsylvania are looking for a man charged with homicide in the fatal shooting of his brother over the weekend.

Jeffrey Ballard, 46, was shot in the leg and bled to death following the incident at an Elks Lodge in New Kensington around 3 a.m. Saturday, according to a news release from the Westmoreland County district attorney’s office.

Witnesses told investigators that Ballard, a bouncer at the lodge, and his brother, Steffon Ballard, 38, were assaulting a man in the parking lot when the younger Ballard pulled a handgun from his sock and began pistol whipping the man.

At some point, the gun discharged and the elder Ballard was struck in the upper left thigh.

Steffon Ballard and the person being beaten fled from the scene, authorities said.
