The 28th SIES Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswati National Eminence Awards will honour a diverse group of distinguished Indians this year, including Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma. The awards will be presented on Saturday, December 13, at 6 p.m. at Shanmukhananda Hall as part of the annual Kanchi Mahaswami festival.

Dr Sarma will receive the award for Public Leadership, in recognition of his governance initiatives in Assam, including job creation, land reforms, digital governance efforts and welfare support to over two million families. National surveys have consistently ranked him among India’s top-performing chief ministers.
