When the Kentucky Humane Society (KHS) received word of a puppy in desperate need, their team wasted no time and rushed to his aid.

The scene was gut-wrenching.

The tiny dog, later named Quill, bore the marks of severe trauma. His body was scarred from wounds, and his lower jaw had been so badly injured by another animal that he could not eat or drink on his own.

The team quickly brought him in for X-rays, and the results shocked everyone.

Emergency Surgery And Tender Care

Quill needed urgent surgery to repair the life-threatening damage to his jaw.

“Our vet team performed surgery to temporarily realign and secure his jaw bones, but this is not a permanent solution. He may require partial jaw removal surgery to allow him to heal properly,” KHS wrote in a Facebook post .
