BOSTON —
A security guard suffered serious injuries in a stabbing early Wednesday on the campus of Boston Medical Center, sources told 5 Investigates.
Police were called at 2 a.m. to the area of 850 Harrison Ave. for a report of a person stabbed.
The victim, who was not identified, was able to get to the hospital for treatment. It's not clear if the security guard was working at the time of the incident.
"Earlier this morning, Boston Police and Boston Medical Center Public Safety responded to an assault on a staff member on our campus," the hospital said in a statement.
A person was taken into custody and is expected to appear in Boston Municipal Court later Wednesday, officials said.
Neighbors said more security or police patrols are needed in the area.
