INDIANAPOLIS — The Colts are opening the 21-day practice window for defensive tackle DeForest Buckner to return from the neck injury he suffered against Pittsburgh.

Buckner has missed the past four games, an injury severe enough that he flew to Panama to get stem cell treatment to boost his recovery.

Indianapolis head coach Shane Steichen said Buckner will practice on a limited basis Wednesday, opening the possibility for him to play against Seattle.

The Colts could use Buckner’s ability to rush the passer. Indianapolis has recorded just one sack and five quarterback hits over the past two games, losses to AFC South rivals Houston and Jacksonville.

Indianapolis will not get Sauce Gardner back this week. He suffered a calf strain against Houston, and will not practice Wednesday.
