A North Shore stretch of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail closed temporarily starting Wednesday between West North Avenue and past Kroll Drive to under the West End Bridge in Chateau for construction of the Esplanade Project.
Friends of the Riverfront says the closure is expected to last until sometime this coming summer due to work on the $740 million complex, where ground was broken Dec. 1 to turn a brownfield along the Ohio River into luxury high-rises, a marina, houseboats and a Ferris wheel.
In the meantime, signs will guide trail users along the detour route on North Point Drive, Beaver Avenue and West North Avenue. For a map of that section of the trail, visit the Friends of the Riverfront alert page.
