Quebec wants to prevent criminal groups from displaying their logos, create a registry of sex offenders and crack down on vandals.
Public Security Minister Ian Lafrenière tabled Bill 13 on Wednesday aimed at “promoting a sense of security among the population.”
This bill would prohibit “displaying to the public any object identifying an entity listed on the list of criminally motivated entities established by the Minister of Public Safety.”
For example, Quebecers would no longer be able to wear Hells Angels jackets in public, under penalty of a fine of up to $5,000.
Criminal groups would no longer be able to fly their flag over their premises.
