A Peeping Tom who used hidden cameras to illegally film an underage family member undressing in Maryland has been tracked down.

Glen Burnie resident Joseph Glenn Kolbe Jr. is facing more than two dozen charges following an investigation into his "surreptitious recording of an underage family member in various states of undress," according to the Anne Arundel County Sheriff's Office.

An investigation was first launched on Friday, Dec. 5, when the sheriff's office was advised by the Anne Arundel County Police Department that a new warrant had been issued for Kolbe's arrest after his videos were uncovered.

Deputies first attempted to execute a search warrant at his home that day, but were unsuccessful. A second shot to apprehend him on Monday, Dec. 8, also failed.

Ultimately, Kolbe was tracked to a relative's home in the 1400 block of Grimm Road in Severn, where he was taken into custody without incident on Tuesday, Dec. 9.

Kolbe was taken to the Jennifer Road Detention Center, where he was charged with:

  • Twenty-three counts of visual surveillance in a private location without permission and with prurient intent.
  • Twelve counts of Peeping Tom;
  • Sexual abuse of a minor.

No details about his next court appearance have been released by the sheriff's office.
