WASHINGTON (WLS) -- Former Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan is asking President Donald Trump for a pardon.
Madigan was convicted on bribery, conspiracy and wire fraud charges earlier this year.

He was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison, and is currently in a federal prison camp in Morgantown, West Virginia.
Department of Justice records show the 83-year old has asked Trump for a pardon at the completion of his sentence.
A clemency case has been opened and the petition is under review.
Madigan was recently disbarred , after the conviction.
He filed for his name to be stricken from the roll of attorneys admitted to the state bar, according to court records.
Madigan has also appealed the conviction .
