COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin has been named a Heisman Trophy finalist for the 2025 season.

He is the fifth player to be named a finalist since Ryan Day took over as head coach in 2019, and the sixth since Day first joined the staff as an assistant in 2017.

Sayin’s first year as a starter has been a glowing success. He led the Buckeyes to a 12-1 record while finally snapping a four-game losing streak against Michigan. Doing so meant a return to the Big Ten Championship Game for the first time since 2020, though they walked away on the wrong side of a 13-10 loss to Indiana.
