CHESTERLAND, Ohio — With cold weather settling into Northeast Ohio, Geauga County officials are reminding residents that multiple public buildings are open as warming centers this winter.
The library system’s six branches, along with its administrative center, are offering extended indoor space during regular business hours for anyone who needs relief from freezing temperatures. Branches are open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Geauga Family YMCA, 12460 Bass Lake Road in Chardon, is also open as a warming site, with hours from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The YMCA notes that showers and hygiene supplies are available to those who need
