JACKSON, MI — Iconic downtown breakfast and lunch spot Candi’s BZB Cafe has closed its doors.

Back in August, the restaurant posted on social media that it was selling the recipe to its English Muffin bread.

It posted again in October that the recipe was for sale and added that it was closing Nov. 30 due to personal reasons. The post added the building was still available for purchase.

On Wednesday, Dec. 10, the doors were locked and the building appeared empty inside, aside from several chairs stacked on tables. The owner of a neighboring restaurant confirmed they had closed.

Owners Candi and Joe Blake took over the eatery, 225 S. Mechanic St., in 2015.

An effort to reach them this week was not immediately successful.
