A weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 3:59 p.m. for icy roads until 10 p.m. for Northern Erie.
"Temperatures will rapidly fall into the upper 20s to around 30 behind a strong cold front this evening. This will cause wet roads left untreated to become slick. Additionally, a burst of snow will accompany the cold front, and this will accumulate a quick coating of snow on roadways. Use caution, and plan on giving yourself extra time to reach your destination this evening," describes the weather service.
