Chanukah begins in the evening of Dec. 14 and Jewish families around the world will light the first candle on the menorah. The last candle will be lit in the evening of Dec. 21.
In addition to lighting candles at home and at area synagogues, many people will journey out to community lightings from the east side to the west side. These community lightings will take place in malls, lifestyle centers, city halls and elsewhere.
The Cleveland Jewish News has compiled a list of community candlelighting ceremonies for each night. Some locations will also light candles on most nights, except Shabbat. Some lightings will also have activities, Chanukah songs and refreshments such as latkes and doughnuts.
For synagogue candlelightings or synagogue Chanukah events, consult the individual synagogue.
