BENTON, Mo. (KFVS) - A man is now charged in connection with a warrant arrest incident on Tuesday in Benton, Missouri.

According to Scott County Sheriff Derick Wheetley, 38-year-old David M. Bollinger is charged with hindering the prosecution of a felony after allegedly helping a fugitive, Andrew Hanks, avoid arrest.

On December 9, multiple law enforcement agencies executed an arrest warrant at a home in Benton , where Hanks was staying.

Hanks was wanted on multiple outstanding warrants in Cape Girardeau County, including felony stealing a motor vehicle, aggravated fleeing and unlawful possession of a firearm.

According to the sheriff, Bollinger admitted he knew Hanks was hiding from charges.

He is currently being held at the Scott County Jail on a $50,000 cash or surety bond.
