Two separate cold cases from the 1980s, a kidnapping in Berkshire County and a murder in Vermont, have been solved after a 65-year-old man pleaded guilty on Tuesday to both crimes, prosecutors said.

David Allen Morrison has confessed to the 1981 kidnapping of a 15-year-old girl in the Berkshires and the 1986 killing of a 32-year-old golf pro in Bennington County in Vermont, prosecutors from both counties said in a joint statement.

The Berkshire district attorney’s office and the Bennington state attorney’s office will team up Wednesday for a news conference about the break in the cases. It will be held at 11 a.m. in Vermont and can be livestreamed here .
