FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — Wild Waves Theme Park in Federal Way is closing down after its 2026 season, the company announced on Dec. 10.
The 70-acre theme and water park opened in 1977 and is operated by Premier Parks LLC.
In the announcement of its closure, officials cited "millions" in lost revenue as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and its lingering impacts.
“Unfortunately, the rising cost of ongoing operations since reopening after the COVID shutdown has generated millions in losses, which forces us to discontinue operations at the end of our 2026 season," said Kieran Burke, president and owner of Premier Parks, in a statement.
Wild Waves will open for next year's season on May 23, 2026. The final day of operations before closing to the public is set for Nov. 1, 2026, concluding with
