Mission Ridge will not open this weekend after this week's rainfall and high temperatures impacted the snow and left "substantial cleanup work across the resort," according to a post on the resort's Facebook page.
The closure means no ski resorts are open in Washington state, as of Dec. 11.
"To preserve the snowpack we have and to give our teams the time needed to clean up after the weather event, we will remain closed through this weekend. Our crews will be working diligently to evaluate terrain, clear debris, and prepare the mountain for reopening," the resort's Facebook page reads, in part.
Mission Ridge hopes to reopen Dec. 18, conditions permitting.
The closure comes a week after lifts at Mission Ridge began turning.
Over the past several days, Washington state has been hit hard
