Ann Arbor – This isn’t supposed to happen, not this early, not with this many new faces. The numbers are staggering, preposterous even. It may be difficult to fully grasp how Michigan is doing it, but it’s easy to appreciate, and impossible to ignore.

The Wolverines are No. 1 in the coaches poll, No. 1 in numerous metric rankings. They’re essentially finishing off opponents by halftime, winning six straight by at least 25 points. By their current standard, this game was relatively pedestrian, an 89-61 pounding of Villanova Tuesday night at the Crisler Center.
