The Red Sox have been linked to several infielders this offseason. But now with Pete Alonso off the board after he signed a five-year deal with the Baltimore Orioles , another infielder has emerged as a possibility.

Boston has interest in Eugenio Suárez, the New York Post’s Jon Heyman reported on Wednesday , adding the Red Sox remain interested in Bo Bichette , Alex Bregman , Ketel Marte , Kazuma Okamoto and Jorge Polanco.

Suárez began the 2025 season with the Arizona Diamondbacks before he was traded to the Seattle Mariners at the deadline. The infielder was linked to the Red Sox before Seattle acquired him, but chief baseball officer Craig Breslow focused on pitching and traded for Steven Matz from the St. Louis Cardinals and Dustin May from the Los Angeles Dodgers.
