CRESCENT TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

In a post from the Crescent Township Police Department, officials said they have received reports of a bear being seen in the area along Aster Lane. Advertisement

"Please remember that bears generally avoid human contact and are typically more afraid of us than we are of them," the post said. "However, for your safety and the safety of your pets, please avoid any attempts to approach or interact with the animal."

Police said if you see a bear, maintain a safe distance and call 911 only if the bear appears aggressive or poses an immediate threat.

"Stay safe and stay alert," the post said.
