Several school districts in western North Carolina have announced changes to the schedule due to potential winter weather on Thursday morning.
Avery County
Due to the weather forecast, Avery County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay for students, Thursday, Dec. 11.
If any changes to this plan become necessary, an updated announcement will be made by the district before 6:30 a.m.
Madison County
Madison County Schools will have a remote learning day for Thursday, Dec. 11.
Mitchell County
Mitchell County Schools will be on a two-hour delay, Thursday, Dec. 11, due to potential snow and ice.
If the district needs to change to a remote day, a decision will be made before 7 a.m.
Staff may report on a one-hour delay. Buildings will open for drop-offs one hour later than normal time.
