TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - A longtime leader of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Tim Moore, was laid to rest on Wednesday in Tallahassee.

Commissioner Moore served as head of FDLE for a record 16 years under three governors from 1988 to 2003.

In total, Moore spent more than thirty years at FDLE, with his career starting in the agency’s mailroom.

According to the Florida Sheriffs Association , under Moore’s leadership, “FDLE became the first statewide investigative agency in the country to be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.”

Traffic camera video showed the funeral procession on Thomasville Road following services at Bradfordville First Baptist Church on Wednesday.

Moore was 74 years old at the time of his passing.
