An updated weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 10:27 p.m. for heavy snow until 11:30 p.m. for Northern Wayne as well as Bradford, Susquehanna, Wyoming, Lackawanna and Luzerne counties.

"At 10:26 p.m., a band of heavy snow was along a line extending from Unadilla to near Shunk and moving southeast at 25 MPH," according to the weather service.

Locations impacted by the alert include Rockland, Binghamton, Falls, Vestal, Johnson City, Carbondale, Kirkwood, Vernon, Conklin and Clarks Summit.

According to the weather service, "Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination. Use extra caution if you must travel into or through this band of h
