US President Donald Trump’s administration made the website for ‘Trump Gold Card’ live on Wednesday which opens the application for a ‘gold card’ that is an expedited visa which the federal government provides to people who pay at least $1 million. President Trump called the ‘gold card’ “somewhat like a green card, but with big advantages”.

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, during the launch of the website in the White House’s Roosevelt Room, said the ‘gold card’ visa programme would include a fee of $15,000 for applicant vetting and a thorough process would be followed to scrutinise the background of the applicants in order to “make sure these people absolutely qualify to be in America.”
