STEVENS POINT − Regular elections return next year in Wisconsin and the Stevens Point Journal wants to give readers an early look at what local seats will be on the ballot in spring 2026.

If necessary, the spring primary election would be held Feb. 17, and the spring general election will be April 7.

Candidates for offices may declare their intention to run at any time, but they must submit their official paperwork and nomination signatures by Jan. 6.

In addition to the local races, the campaigns for Wisconsin governor will generate plenty of attention-grabbing moments heading into next year's election cycle. A gubernatorial primary will be on the partisan ballot Aug. 11, with the next governor chosen during the fall general election Nov. 3.
