DES MOINES, Iowa -- (Gray Media Iowa State Capital Bureau) -- Cordt Holub, a fourth generation corn and soybeans farmer from Tama County, didn’t know exactly what he would hear if he traveled to Washington, D.C. to share a room with President Donald Trump. But he knew that details about a new financial aid package for farmers would be coming, so he didn’t want to miss the chance.

When he took a phone call asking him to go find out, he seized the opportunity. Holub not only wanted to learn what the administration would do to help fellow farmers who are suffering through another tough year, but he also wanted to chance to share his experiences as an American farmer.
