MACON, Ga. — A day after former head coach Mike Jacobs was announced as Toledo's head coach , Mercer found its guy.
Around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Mercer athletics announced former defensive coordinator Joel Taylor would return to Macon as the Bears' head coach.
Taylor was a longtime staff member under Drew Cronic, who helped Mercer make the FCS playoffs for the first time in school history.
