A police investigation is underway after a body was recovered from the water near Dumbarton. ‌

Emergency services were called to Sandpoint Marina on Woodyard Road at about 10.40am on Thursday, December 11, following the discovery. Officers say enquiries are continuing to determine the full circumstances of the incident. ‌

Witnesses reported a significant police presence in the area. ‌

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.40am on Thursday, 11 December 2025, a body was discovered in the water at Sandpoint Marina in Dumbarton. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson added: “We received a call at 10.47am to attend an incident on Woodyard Road, Dumbarton. We dispatched one ambulance to the scene
