Police swooped on a motorway this morning (Thursday, December 11) and arrested the driver of a lorry. Police have confirmed that 13 other people were detained following the incident.
Officers from Thames Valley Police (TVP) were called to the M40 in Oxfordshire shortly before 10am. Eyewitnesses claimed as many as 15 police cars were at the scene between junction 9 and junction 20, near Bicester. According to the Oxford Mail , the witnesses added that people from the lorry were detained by police.
TVP has now confirmed that the driver of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of immigration offences. Meanwhile, 13 people were detained at the scene.
