A London man faces racing and other charges after two people were hurt, one seriously, in a two-vehicle crash in the city’s north end late last month, police say.
An eastbound 2021 Tesla swerved through the left turn lane around a vehicle stopped for a red light on Huron Street and turned right on Adelaide Street North without stopping at about 6:40 a.m. on Nov. 26, police said.
The vehicle then accelerated southbound to 130 kilometres/hour in a 50 km/h zone before driving into oncoming traffic and colliding with a northbound pickup truck near Victoria Street, police said.
Both drivers were taken to hospital, police said. The Tesla driver suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries, while the pickup truck driver’s injuries were minor.
