Richard Rodriguez, a fourth grader at Chase STEMM Academy, said keeping ice from melting was very hard.
He and his classmates were challenged with trying to find materials to build a container that would slow down heat transfer and keep ice cubes from melting.
“I had fun building my box and I tried to design my container to try to keep it colder,” Richard said. “The ice melted in two hours. I guess it worked a little bit.”
The first semester Project-Based Learning Expo held Thursday showed off the designs students created to answer problem-based questions.
Expo presentations included robotics engineering, environmental science investigations, energy-transfer designs, community-planning models, and scholar-created sports.
