ROCKFORD, Ill. — A local man was given his sentence after receiving child pornography charges.
The Winnebago County State's Attorney's Office announced that 32-year-old Bryant GomezGarcia of Rockford was sentenced to 5.5 years in jail for three counts of child pornography.
Around Feb. 22, 2021, Homeland Security special agents got reports from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The reports showed that GomezGarcia viewed child sexual abuse material.
During the investigation, agents found out GomezGarcia was also getting inappropriate images sent to his email.
In an interview, GomezGarcia also admitted to police that he "sometimes" came across and looked at child sexual abuse material on the Internet.
