JACKSON, Miss. — A Jackson woman has been sentenced for filing fraudulent loans using stolen personal information while employed at a title loan business, Attorney General Lynn Fitch announced Thursday.
Kiana Rochelle Cooper, a former employee of LoanMax Title Loans, was sentenced on one count of false pretenses after investigators with the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office found she knowingly filed fraudulent loans using the stolen identities of multiple victims.
“My office is committed to holding those who defraud Mississippians and our businesses accountable,” Fitch said in a statement. “Fraud is not a victimless crime; it hurts hardworking individuals. I am thankful for the incredible team of investigators and prosecutors who ensured that justice was served in this case.”
