RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. — A Rankin County man has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole following his conviction on multiple sex-related charges, authorities said.

On Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2025, the trial of Gerry Glen Herring concluded with a jury finding him guilty of two counts of gratification of lust and one count of attempted sexual battery, according to the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department.

Rankin County Circuit Court Judge Brad Mills sentenced Herring to consecutive terms of life in prison without the possibility of parole for attempted sexual battery, plus an additional 30 years for the two counts of gratification of lust.
