NATCHEZ, Miss. — A registered sex offender wanted on multiple warrants for failing to register is back in custody after being captured at a Natchez bus terminal, according to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrested Anthony Darnell Owens on Thursday as he exited a bus at the terminal on Wood Avenue in Natchez, the sheriff’s office said in an update to the public.

Owens is a registered sex offender and had three active warrants for failure to register as required under Mississippi law, authorities said.

In a statement, Sheriff Travis Patten thanked his deputies for their vigilance and the community for sharing information and remaining alert during the search.
