The business association behind the popular Maple Grove Chalkfest will cease to exist at the end of the week, leaving the summer festival in limbo.
The Maple Grove Business Association shared the news it will dissolve come Friday, December 12. Citing insufficient financial resources and support, the group says it is unable to continue operations.
Founded in 2001 as the Arbor Lakes Business Association, the organization expanded city-wide and became known as the Maple Grove Business Association in 2021.
The group has hosted Maple Grove Chalkfest for the last 10 years, which will no longer continue under the organization.
"We are profoundly grateful to the artists, sponsors, volunteers, and community members who helped make Chalkfest a lasting legacy," Executive Director Kira L. Johnson
