KALAMAZOO, MI — A man died after he was found unresponsive in Kalamazoo during below freezing temperatures, police confirmed.
Around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, public safety officers responded to the 500 block of North Rose Street for a report of an unresponsive person lying in the snow.
A 29-year-old man was found at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park. He was not breathing and had no detectable pulse, KDPS said.
Officers and medical personnel immediately began lifesaving efforts. The man was taken to a hospital for treatment.
He was pronounced dead shortly after noon.
City of Kalamazoo Communications Director Mike Smith declined to make a statement at this time.
Temperatures were below freezing throughout the day Wednesday.
