HASKINS, Ohio — CIFT, a nonprofit that supports food manufacturers, will close on Monday after a federal agency revoked Ohio’s funding while it audits the state program.
Rebecca Singer, CIFT’s president and CEO, said the nonprofit “will not recover” from the loss of funding and plans to shut down permanently. It receives about $900,000 in federal funds annually and about $700,000 from state sources.
“This will drastically impact companies in our local communities and our state as a whole because of the reach and network we have established over the years,” Ms. Singer said. “We’ve had a sound economic impact, we’ve helped create jobs, and we’ve helped companies expand, innovate, and become more efficient.”
