JONES COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A Jones County house dating back to 1832 is being restored by the family that has owned it for generations.
The David Green House, located just outside of Trenton, has been empty since the 1960s. David Cole, Green’s sixth great-grandson, and his wife, Morgan, are working to bring the historic home back to life with plans to move in next summer.
Two years ago, David Cole brought Morgan to see the family property that he said he hadn’t been to in around twenty years. During that visit, Morgan Cole decided she wanted to make it their home, though her husband wasn’t initially convinced since the house had fallen into disrepair.
David Cole said others had mixed reactions to news of their restoration plans.
