LOUISVILLE, Ky. — As snow begins to move in, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is rolling out new patrol vehicles that may help deputies respond faster and stay safer on the roads.
The department has introduced an updated fleet design with upgraded technology aimed at improving response times.
One of the key additions is a system that gives deputies priority at traffic lights, allowing patrol vehicles to move through intersections faster when responding to emergencies.
Chief Deputy Colonel Steve Healey said the update is part of their effort to save money while improving public safety.
“We’re looking for ways we can save money while enhancing public safety, and that’s why you’re seeing the new design for our sheriff’s vehicles,” Healey said.
