TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - A suspect is facing felony charges after more than 1 million fentanyl pills were recovered during a traffic stop in Tucson.

According to the Tucson Police Department, Southern Arizona Counter Narcotics Alliance (CNA) members conducted a traffic stop near Cortaro Road and Interstate 10.

As CNA members searched the vehicle, they found around 245 pounds of fentanyl inside. TPD said the street value of the pills is approximately worth $5.5 million.

The suspect reportedly pled guilty to multiple felony charges.

TPD said the department, and other law enforcement agencies, remain committed to removing fentanyl from Tucson streets.
