With 111 people in its emergency ward, Rockyview General Hospital is operating at 108 per cent capacity and is unable to accept any more patients.

Meanwhile, all ambulances in the city are off the road since they are waiting to transfer patients to hospitals. The situation is similar across the city.

The information was learned on Thursday by a Postmedia staffer at the hospital’s emergency room.

Alberta Health Services didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment by Postmedia Calgary.
