SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Sioux City Fire Rescue gave back to the community they serve Thursday morning with a donation to Support Siouxland Soldiers.

The money came from a mustache competition the department held during the month of November.

“They do a lot for the community and we get a lot of support from the community itself and this is one of the best ways we found that we can give back,” said firefighter Derek DeWitt.

Support Siouxland Soldiers is a non-profit organization founded in 2007 that helps local military members and their families. They host support events, make and ship care packages and more. The organization is also 100% volunteer-run.
