HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu leaders are preparing to demolish a bakery and another building as part of plans to develop affordable housing near the future Mokauea Skyline Station.

The Department of Housing and Land Management (DHLM) and the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) will coordinate demolition at 1930 Dillingham Boulevard, the former Dee Lite Bakery site, and 1907 Eluwene Street.

Work will occur between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and is expected to take approximately two months. The first phase involves interior activities, followed by the removal of the building slab, foundation, and an underground grease interceptor.

Traffic and community impact

All staging will be located in the building’s front parking area with no expected impacts to traffic on Dillingha
