A Jacksonville man who spent years preparing for a military aviation career says one crash on the ground derailed the future he’d been working toward.
Will Hynes, 22, says he grew up wanting one thing: to fly.
“I wanted to join the military and go in the WOFT program, which is strictly flying.”
Hynes told the Ask Anthony team he had his path set toward the cockpit of a military aircraft, until a November morning last year changed everything. He says he had stopped in the Tinseltown parking lot off Southside Boulevard during a quick breakfast run when a Waste Management truck hit his Jeep.
“It was a very short period of time before I saw the truck. All I could do was slam on the brakes and honk.”
