Following a Nov. 25 Harker Heights H-E-B theft incident, which netted over a thousand mixed reactions on social media from the Killeen-Fort Hood community, Harker Heights Police Department said it has not found the suspected shoplifter, who appears to be an elderly man pushing a grocery cart filled with ground beef, vegetables and other food.

Many of the online comments were sympathetic towards the man, and urged police to drop the case.

Since KDH News did a story about the viral HHPD social media post, one KDH Facebook user said they went to the H-E-B grocery store in Heights to pay for the man’s food, but the grocery store giant refused. The Facebook user said H-E-B officials declined the offer, stating they do not know the exact price based off of the photo alone.
